Magical Makeup: BEAUTY BLENDERS

Hey guys, today I'm writing about BEAUTY BLENDERS. Becoming increasingly popular as a tool in makeup, they are SOFT TEAR DROP SHAPED MAKEUP COSMETIC SPONGES. They come in different shapes and sizes.

HOW TO USE:

Step 1: Put the Beauty blender under running water
Step 2: Give it a tight squeeze to soak the water evenly
Step 3: Turn the tap off and make sure you squeeze the water out
Step 4: Take a paper towel and slightly squeeze it so the leftover water can get soaked

(Your beauty blender will increase in size as you soak it in the water)

Now you're ready to use your beauty blenders!

APPLYING FOUNDATION- WET-BOUNCE-TWIST

Step 1: Pump out your desired amount of foundation on your hand or a flat base
Step 2: Take the fat end of the beauty blender and dip it in some foundation
Step 3: Start patting the product on your face
Step 4: Distribute evenly
Step 5: Use the patting motion to evenly distribute the foundation all over your face
Step 6: Blend away to glory!

Yes, it does take a while to get used to this method and to find the correct patting and blending motion, but the end result is FLAWLESS! <3

I found this image on google, don't you think the difference is really good? It doesn't look too cakey or put on. Gives a nice soft finish!

WHAT DO I THINK?

I LOVE beauty blenders. They might be a little bit of a hassle to wet it each time and then apply it, but its totally worth it! Here are some pointers:

  • It blends everything FLAWLESSLY!
  • Can use without water as well (but you might require a little extra product as it'll soak some in)
  • Gives an AIRBRUSHED soft look
  • Pushes the makeup into your skin so it doesn't look too cake/like a mask
  • Preferred over a brush, as the strokes are not visible AT ALL and brushes require extra product
  • Not good for too liquidy foundations or too thick (stick) foundation
  • Works best with CREAMY foundation
  • Covers ALL PORES unlike the brush
  • Can be used for powdering the face as well

RECOMMENDED FOUNDATION:

ANY liquid-creamy foundation can be used, but I feel it works well with the URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN FOUNDATION and MAKE UP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION.

TYPES OF SPONGES:

Beauty Blenders come in various shapes, colors and sizes.

COLOR:

  • The BLACK PRO teardrop shaped beauty blender is best used for bronzers and dark pigments
  • The WHITE PURE teardrop beauty blender is best used for applying lotions, primers, serums etc
  • The PINK ORIGINAL teardrop beauty blender is best used for applying liquid, power, cream foundation and cream blushes as well

SHAPES and SIZES:

  • TEARDROP (red): For all over face, easy to get into places to blend
  • PEAR (purple): Works similar to the teardrop blender but has better grip
  • SPADE (green): Great to apply concealer, easy to get into tiny places to blend and also great for fixing small errors or spot concealing
  • FLAT END SCULPTOR(blue): Best used with HEAVY foundation application. Good for a cream contoured look
