3 Weddings, 3 Destinations & One Beautiful Couple: Vinicus & Cassia’s Indian Wedding!

I was featured on WED ME GOOD. Here is the entire story below :) Have a good read!

The bride wanted a big wedding, the groom wanted to celebrate by their love for travel. So these two decided to combine their passion and get married in different cities across the world as they travelled from continent to continent. First stop- India !

This is a story of a couple who decided  to get married in 3 countries to seal their everlasting bond and boy, India was one big destination in this list. In any case, let’s accept one thing – with all the hungama and the grand gestures our weddings are made of, why would this couple not include this crazy country? And as they prepped and researched, they reached out to wedding planners, Sajda Weddings to create the madness that is the quintessential Indian wedding with all the colours, the vibe and all the drama included. And it was an affair to remember alright.
The Story:
02-IMG_4333
Vinicius & Cassia got married in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 30th May this year among a gathering of 15 people. And after the wedding, the couple had their own thoughts on how to celebrate the rest of the union. Cassia wanted a big wedding and a bigger party. Vinicus wanted to combine their love for travel into something worthwhile.
“When Cassia told me she wants to throw a big party for our relatives and friends, I was not happy. I told her, let’s travel the world and see places, as we both love to travel. But she was adamant, she wanted a wedding, a special one. That’s when we decided to combine both our ideas – travel to different cities and on the journey, choose a few special places to get married at” says Vinicus, the groom.
And so, they planned their trip across countries and chose three destinations to get married at. How could India miss that list ? It is perhaps the biggest, most exuberant celebration any culture can have.
The Sajda Wedding Connection:

“Vinicius & Cassia’s wedding planner, who planned this intimate affair for them in Brazil, Roberta Canuto, of Casa-de-Dois, she searched long and hard for a wedding planner in Delhi, who could execute all the things they wanted within a shoestring budget. And someone they could trust to make all the arrangements. They were very clear about the brief “We want a small affair nothing big and fancy with just the two of us, and some people to celebrate with, and we want to get married in the most traditional way possible.”
“The whole idea was just too romantic to not be a part of. And to our delight, they turned out to be the most adorable and prefect couple we could have imagined!,” say the guys over at Sajda Weddings.
The Indian Trip:

Their arrival in India was no less than an adventure in itself. After a few taxi issues, bad roads, narrowest of lanes and bad drivers, they arrived at their hotel, with their luggage and the hotel wasn’t how they imagined it to be. They had almost made up their mind that it was a bad idea to choose India as one of the destinations to get married.
But they met the wedding planners who in turn took them out to show them the real Delhi – the one we all love and adore. Fancy markets, sweet shopping, clean roads and nice cars. Add “Butter chicken” to the list and soon, they became big fans of India.
The Mehendi:

Cassia was super excited about this part – the Henna (tattoo) ceremony as she calls it. As the Mehendi Artist skillfully kept designing her hands and arms, she happily sat there, enjoying the process. Vinicius had plenty to do as well. He had to capture each moment to show to their families back home, he had to answer and ask a lot of questions to his new friends/baraatis! Then came the pre-wedding shoot, with all the doses of cheesy stuff and loads of corny PDA.
The Haldi Ceremony:
11-IMG_5768-001
When asked what were they expecting the wedding to be like, Vinicius said, “We thought we’ll put on some Indian clothes on and get married and the whole thing will be over in a few hours”. But Sajda Weddings made sure they got the full Dilli experience. It was going to be a full-blown shaadi experience!

The traditional Haldi ceremony was a delight. Cassia looked adorable with the turmeric colour on her skin and she got so emotional and teary-eyed. Vinicius documented the ceremony wearing a kurta and churidaar. Then there was the chooda ceremony with kaleeras. Vinicus wasn’t spared too, haldi and ubtan were smeared on him and laddoos were fed to the whole group, it was memorable – the whole shebang was managed and produced beautifully.
The Wedding:

MUA Maanavi Chhabra and her hair stylist Rohit transformed this Brazilian beauty into a gorgeous breathtaking Indian Bride!

Vinicius looked absolutely dashing in his black and gold sherwani. Sanatan Dharm Mandir in GK, also known as Pahadiwala Mandir was the venue. The mandap in the temple was adorned with gendaphool and kaleeras in the most beautiful manner possible by Sagun & Megha Bhayana from Mantra Events. Bhakti and Prasoon from Prismlens Photography left no stones unturned in capturing each moment of this two-day experience.

Vinicius & Cassia sat down to perform their wedding rituals though everything had to be translated and explained. After the wedding, everyone changed into slightly more comfortable attire and took the newly weds and the whole team for an evening of merriment, good food and a celebration of Love!

The future plans:
After Delhi, their next stop is Agra, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Varanasi and then they fly to Indonesia. They are getting married in Bali next and last in Japan.

Magical Makeup: BEAUTY BLENDERS

Hey guys, today I'm writing about BEAUTY BLENDERS. Becoming increasingly popular as a tool in makeup, they are SOFT TEAR DROP SHAPED MAKEUP COSMETIC SPONGES. They come in different shapes and sizes.

HOW TO USE:

Step 1: Put the Beauty blender under running water
Step 2: Give it a tight squeeze to soak the water evenly
Step 3: Turn the tap off and make sure you squeeze the water out
Step 4: Take a paper towel and slightly squeeze it so the leftover water can get soaked

(Your beauty blender will increase in size as you soak it in the water)

Now you're ready to use your beauty blenders!

APPLYING FOUNDATION- WET-BOUNCE-TWIST

Step 1: Pump out your desired amount of foundation on your hand or a flat base
Step 2: Take the fat end of the beauty blender and dip it in some foundation
Step 3: Start patting the product on your face
Step 4: Distribute evenly
Step 5: Use the patting motion to evenly distribute the foundation all over your face
Step 6: Blend away to glory!

Yes, it does take a while to get used to this method and to find the correct patting and blending motion, but the end result is FLAWLESS! <3

I found this image on google, don't you think the difference is really good? It doesn't look too cakey or put on. Gives a nice soft finish!

WHAT DO I THINK?

I LOVE beauty blenders. They might be a little bit of a hassle to wet it each time and then apply it, but its totally worth it! Here are some pointers:

  • It blends everything FLAWLESSLY!
  • Can use without water as well (but you might require a little extra product as it'll soak some in)
  • Gives an AIRBRUSHED soft look
  • Pushes the makeup into your skin so it doesn't look too cake/like a mask
  • Preferred over a brush, as the strokes are not visible AT ALL and brushes require extra product
  • Not good for too liquidy foundations or too thick (stick) foundation
  • Works best with CREAMY foundation
  • Covers ALL PORES unlike the brush
  • Can be used for powdering the face as well

RECOMMENDED FOUNDATION:

ANY liquid-creamy foundation can be used, but I feel it works well with the URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN FOUNDATION and MAKE UP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION.

TYPES OF SPONGES:

Beauty Blenders come in various shapes, colors and sizes.

COLOR:

  • The BLACK PRO teardrop shaped beauty blender is best used for bronzers and dark pigments
  • The WHITE PURE teardrop beauty blender is best used for applying lotions, primers, serums etc
  • The PINK ORIGINAL teardrop beauty blender is best used for applying liquid, power, cream foundation and cream blushes as well

SHAPES and SIZES:

  • TEARDROP (red): For all over face, easy to get into places to blend
  • PEAR (purple): Works similar to the teardrop blender but has better grip
  • SPADE (green): Great to apply concealer, easy to get into tiny places to blend and also great for fixing small errors or spot concealing
  • FLAT END SCULPTOR(blue): Best used with HEAVY foundation application. Good for a cream contoured look

LIPSTICK REVIEW: Anastasia Beverly Hills

The  Anastasia Beverly Hills LIQUID LIPSTICKS are TO DIE FOR!

Why do I like them?

POSITIVES:
  • EXTREMELY high coverage.
  • SUPER DUPER pigmented lipsticks
  • Perfect liquid formula
  • TOTALLY matte and quick dry
  • It dries in 30 seconds maximum! No wait, no late!
  • Extremely LONG LASTING. Lasts for unto 8 hours without any such touch ups required
  • With LIP LINER, it lasts as long as 10 hours! Who doesn't want that?
  • Available in innumerous shades. Think of a color and you'll find it!

LIPSTICK SWATCHES AND RECOMMENDED SHADES

My TOP FOUR recommendations in shades of pink:

Top L-R: Milkshake and Baby Pink
Bottom L-R: Lovely and Party Pink
DRAWBACKS:

  • A little difficult to remove off. If you want to apply another shade and remove the current one, it is a little difficult as it sets in your lips.
  • The applicator is easy to use, but you can't afford to make a mistake and overdraw on your lips.
  • Not suitable for VERY CHAPPED lips as it anyways dries out the lip for the mattifying effect

SUGGESTIONS:
  • For people who want a little shine to the lip can apply gloss on top of the lipstick.
  • Hydrating gloss can also be applied to moisturize the lips.
  • Since they are so difficult to remove, the best trick is to use OLIVE OIL to easily remove long wearing makeup.
  • You can also use an oil based makeup remover to remove the lipstick. But, my personal suggestion is to use olive oil.
  • Use LIPLINER for increased longevity. Line your entire lip before applying the lipstick for better results in color, uniformity and longevity.

How to test your foundation shade?

The biggest mistake or query we all have is- Which foundation do I use? Is this my color?

Well now I'll tell you the correct way to identify which foundation to buy.

What we all don't notice is that there is a slight difference in the color of your neck and your face. That is why at times, when the wrong foundation is applied, the pictures come out a little too whiter than usual or sometimes even GRAY in color!

All you have to do is take an earbud and apply different shades like in the picture above. The shade that merges with your FACE AND NECK is the one that you need to buy.

You have a choice to make, either you want the neck to match your face or the face to match the color of your neck in order to blend the natural tan and have an even skin tone!

Hopefully, this helps you all choose the right foundation. For more posts like this: Click this to follow my page on Facebook.

Must try this and see for yourself!

My personal favorite foundations for the most natural and flawless skin with coverage are the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation and NARS foundations

Post any queries, and I will try my best to blog about them!
