Magical Makeup: BEAUTY BLENDERS

Hey guys, today I'm writing about BEAUTY BLENDERS. Becoming increasingly popular as a tool in makeup, they are SOFT TEAR DROP SHAPED MAKEUP COSMETIC SPONGES. They come in different shapes and sizes.

HOW TO USE:

Step 1: Put the Beauty blender under running water
Step 2: Give it a tight squeeze to soak the water evenly
Step 3: Turn the tap off and make sure you squeeze the water out
Step 4: Take a paper towel and slightly squeeze it so the leftover water can get soaked

(Your beauty blender will increase in size as you soak it in the water)

Now you're ready to use your beauty blenders!

APPLYING FOUNDATION- WET-BOUNCE-TWIST

Step 1: Pump out your desired amount of foundation on your hand or a flat base
Step 2: Take the fat end of the beauty blender and dip it in some foundation
Step 3: Start patting the product on your face
Step 4: Distribute evenly
Step 5: Use the patting motion to evenly distribute the foundation all over your face
Step 6: Blend away to glory!

Yes, it does take a while to get used to this method and to find the correct patting and blending motion, but the end result is FLAWLESS! <3

I found this image on google, don't you think the difference is really good? It doesn't look too cakey or put on. Gives a nice soft finish!

WHAT DO I THINK?

I LOVE beauty blenders. They might be a little bit of a hassle to wet it each time and then apply it, but its totally worth it! Here are some pointers:

  • It blends everything FLAWLESSLY!
  • Can use without water as well (but you might require a little extra product as it'll soak some in)
  • Gives an AIRBRUSHED soft look
  • Pushes the makeup into your skin so it doesn't look too cake/like a mask
  • Preferred over a brush, as the strokes are not visible AT ALL and brushes require extra product
  • Not good for too liquidy foundations or too thick (stick) foundation
  • Works best with CREAMY foundation
  • Covers ALL PORES unlike the brush
  • Can be used for powdering the face as well

RECOMMENDED FOUNDATION:

ANY liquid-creamy foundation can be used, but I feel it works well with the URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN FOUNDATION and MAKE UP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION.

TYPES OF SPONGES:

Beauty Blenders come in various shapes, colors and sizes.

COLOR:

  • The BLACK PRO teardrop shaped beauty blender is best used for bronzers and dark pigments
  • The WHITE PURE teardrop beauty blender is best used for applying lotions, primers, serums etc
  • The PINK ORIGINAL teardrop beauty blender is best used for applying liquid, power, cream foundation and cream blushes as well

SHAPES and SIZES:

  • TEARDROP (red): For all over face, easy to get into places to blend
  • PEAR (purple): Works similar to the teardrop blender but has better grip
  • SPADE (green): Great to apply concealer, easy to get into tiny places to blend and also great for fixing small errors or spot concealing
  • FLAT END SCULPTOR(blue): Best used with HEAVY foundation application. Good for a cream contoured look

LIPSTICK REVIEW: Anastasia Beverly Hills

The  Anastasia Beverly Hills LIQUID LIPSTICKS are TO DIE FOR!

Why do I like them?

POSITIVES:
  • EXTREMELY high coverage.
  • SUPER DUPER pigmented lipsticks
  • Perfect liquid formula
  • TOTALLY matte and quick dry
  • It dries in 30 seconds maximum! No wait, no late!
  • Extremely LONG LASTING. Lasts for unto 8 hours without any such touch ups required
  • With LIP LINER, it lasts as long as 10 hours! Who doesn't want that?
  • Available in innumerous shades. Think of a color and you'll find it!

LIPSTICK SWATCHES AND RECOMMENDED SHADES

My TOP FOUR recommendations in shades of pink:

Top L-R: Milkshake and Baby Pink
Bottom L-R: Lovely and Party Pink
DRAWBACKS:

  • A little difficult to remove off. If you want to apply another shade and remove the current one, it is a little difficult as it sets in your lips.
  • The applicator is easy to use, but you can't afford to make a mistake and overdraw on your lips.
  • Not suitable for VERY CHAPPED lips as it anyways dries out the lip for the mattifying effect

SUGGESTIONS:
  • For people who want a little shine to the lip can apply gloss on top of the lipstick.
  • Hydrating gloss can also be applied to moisturize the lips.
  • Since they are so difficult to remove, the best trick is to use OLIVE OIL to easily remove long wearing makeup.
  • You can also use an oil based makeup remover to remove the lipstick. But, my personal suggestion is to use olive oil.
  • Use LIPLINER for increased longevity. Line your entire lip before applying the lipstick for better results in color, uniformity and longevity.

How to test your foundation shade?

The biggest mistake or query we all have is- Which foundation do I use? Is this my color?

Well now I'll tell you the correct way to identify which foundation to buy.

What we all don't notice is that there is a slight difference in the color of your neck and your face. That is why at times, when the wrong foundation is applied, the pictures come out a little too whiter than usual or sometimes even GRAY in color!

All you have to do is take an earbud and apply different shades like in the picture above. The shade that merges with your FACE AND NECK is the one that you need to buy.

You have a choice to make, either you want the neck to match your face or the face to match the color of your neck in order to blend the natural tan and have an even skin tone!

Hopefully, this helps you all choose the right foundation. For more posts like this: Click this to follow my page on Facebook.

Must try this and see for yourself!

My personal favorite foundations for the most natural and flawless skin with coverage are the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation and NARS foundations

Post any queries, and I will try my best to blog about them!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear LIPSTICK REVIEW!

Have you all tried the in numerous shades of Too Faced Melted Lipsticks yet? They are super pigmented and totally LIP-tastic!

My favorite picks from over 20 shades!

These lipsticks are absolutely awesome! The best part is that they come in soo many colors. Their composition is pretty much similar to the new liquid lipsticks that have come out. They have such a medium glossy, almost SATIN finish which is great for dry lips and to top it off with a cherry, they are not at all sticky! Very SMOOTH finish and feel on your lips.

Here are a few swatches of the lipsticks on the arm and the lips

I am completely addicted to these lipsticks. The only drawback is that they say that it is a long wear lipstick, but it lasts up till 4-6 hours for me with care, unlike the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks which last FOREVER!

Overall, I ADORE these lipsticks and totally recommend them to everyone! To top it all off, they SMELL so good!

It's a 4.8 out of 5 for me!
